Welcome to SAJ/BSA 2010 Trip Weblog
This is the unofficial weblog of the SAJ/BSA 2010 Trip.
The goal of the site is to allow friends and family to see what participants are seeing and hearing during the trip to Japan at the beginning of February 2010! What a great way to kick off the BSA 100th Anniversary.
Check back toward the middle of January 2010, as the weblog will become more active!

All scouts going on the trip need to pay very close attention to their emails. We are sending out tidbits of information daily. Example– Today was the application for leadership positions.
Fill it out if you are interested. We will close applications on Friday and commence interviewing next week.
Get your business cards made, go through your uniforms and get them upto date.
Money– Travelers checks, and debit cards $200 recommended
Study the culture, so you don’t make embarrassing mistakes.
more to come on Monday.
Check your email on Wednesday Jan 21st. the itinerary and airport directions are posted.
Also your host family and their address, phone etc.
also you should receive an email about leadership jobs.
And add swimsuit to your list of things to bring if you wish.
Get ready for a trip of a lifetime! Tom Mazanec and Kellie Gardner will do an excellent job as two of your leaders, as I know them both. As Deputy Contingent Leader for last year’s SAJ-BSA group, I totally enjoyed this experience. Remain open to new adventures and foods; be as polite as you possibly can as your hosts will be. Take lots of photos! And pack more BSA patches and pins that you think you will need–the Japanese Scouts are extremely generous. Wear your uniform proudly, be friendly–people are going to be watching you everywhere you go! You are representing the BSA, your Council, and your family. Have fun!
Check the dates on your Airline Tickets to Dallas. We have discovered one mistake already
and don’t need anymore. If the date is incorrect, call Esther at the National Office Immediately.
Also, incase you have any question about wearing your uniform when traveling. Wear it!!!
There is No Question about this it is National BSA policy. We need you in uniform so we can find you, and meet you. Be proud that you are a scout during the 100th Birthday party!
Boots on and Saddle UP
See you in Dallas
Check, make sure all your important papers are with you.
Also, in case I forgot— Bring a smile!
