Venturing Camp Crew 2085 …
It never ceases to amaze me how difficult things can be to find on the Boy Scout website. I just found out tonight where the Scuba form was located. I would suggest you fill this out and have it signed and bring to camp…that way if you decide you want to try Scuba you can…if you decided not to do it no big deal. I will say it is lots of fun!!!
Also attached is the updated information!

Two parts to this event---
During the day we will have the opportunity to pistol shoot, climb, rappel, do geo caching, and lots of other fun stuff! That evening the VOA will have a special dinner to celebrate youth who have earned recognitions this last year ! We have several youth who will be recognized— They will also give out the Venturing Leadership Awards. If you would like to nominate a youth or adult for this please let Mrs. Weerts know and she will help you with the paperwork! It is a great way to celebrate those who go the extra mile in Venturing! Cost for the event is $35.00 plus food—for a total of $43.00. If you only want to attend the evening dinner the cost is $18.00. We will need to have our registrations in soon! |

WE will be working with 3202 the Cub Scout pack at Indian Creek Elementary along with one of the Boy Scout Troops. We will be in the water while the cub scouts will be on the bank!
We will have a half mile of the creek to clean up. You will need old tennis shoes, old clothing and a pair of work gloves. We will provide some plastic gloves and the city will provide us with trash bags. You will not be able to take your cell phones in the creek with you as you will get wet as the level changes several times. You will also need to bring a water bottle. You will need to bring your lunch (or we can talk and do lunch together…it was suggested we order pizza!) WE will have a safety officer on the bank with a walkie talkie in case of any problems. We go through the safety procedures at an upcoming meeting.
i. We will meet at the Access park across from the library at 8:45. WE will be finished and at command central no later than 2:30 so we can qualify for unit prizes. Prizes will be given to the Unit who turns in an entry for one of the three categories:
- Oldest – An item that is the oldest. Describe how old you feel your item may be. This could be a date on the item or a general ‘era’ when the item was sold.
- Grossest – This could be a rotting animal, a mossy piece of trash, etc.
- Strangest – Describe what makes this item seem strange to find.
We will need adults to help with supervision in and out of the Creek! Let Linda know at the March 16 meeting if you can help! |
